The Plight of Africa
(The Sleeping Giant.)
Africa has been faced with innumerable and unthinkable plights. It
is our heart-felt belief that we can no longer sit on the sidelines as
mere spectators while other nations oversee our welfare and roadmap
our future.
It is time to give these issues at hand our undivided attention and
create positive, tangible strategies and multiple streams of
legitimate and multiplying income venues that will empower those
villages within the continent of Africa that finds itself under the
horrific plight of:
Wars,
Colonialism,
Corrupt governments,
Dictatorship, poor health facilities
And high mortality
Poverty
Poor education
Sickness and disease
HIV/AIDS is one of the nations greatest challenges and continues to
ravage the Zambian economic, political, cultural, and social
development. This deadly disease has decimated so much of the African
population and has left many families without hope, any type of
insight of a vision for a better future for their lives, nor has it
given them any type of financial or emotional stability.
This deadly scourge has not spared my own home, Zambia, Zimbabwe, a
nation once considered the "Bread Basket of Africa".
Due to poverty and hunger, HIV /AIDS, other diseases, and natural
disasters, there are many orphaned and abandoned children. Many of
these children will die due to the lack of intervention with necessary
resources from the Government and itselfs own people who could assist but
will not!
Although my heart truly goes out to each and every child and certainly
my prayers circulate the continent of Africa with faith and hope for a
better tomorrow, I am aware that I alone cannot combat this horrific
ordeal but I can however be a part of the solution to bringing
restoration and hope to a few. It is from that solid ground that I
dedicate this album and a part of the proceeds from my music to the
modern struggles of the people of Zimbabwe who are now in search of a
new freedom.
Our fight in the past was against the injustices that were imposed
upon us and today seems to be mirroring the exact same reflection of
injustices and despair but on a different level that can only be
dissipated through the wisdom of God, education and financial
resources. Africa is now embracing a new and beautiful day, which we
believe will blossom with new leaders who are operating with a
different mind-set and who will direct the continent to prosperity. So
I say to you! Arise! Arise Mama Africa! Arise!
For it truly is a new day.
God bless Africa,
Pezzy Kudakwashe

Artist: Ngosa Album: Shakapanga Year: 2008

Matthew Ngosa comes with a unique style of music in this powerful gospel album entitled Shakapanga. He sings with a 40 member strong choir. His music is a fusion of traditional Zambian choral music with Kalindula from the northern province of Zambia and Congolese Rumba beats. Ngosa comes from a very talented family of Christian musicians including his brothers and mother. This music style is a product of the cross cultures that have occurred in the recent years between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Zambian cultural mix. Matthew has a large fun base in Zambia plus many other neighboring states. The songs are also down in Tonga, a language of the people who are said to have migrated from Central Africa to Zambia in the 12th century.
